Geoffrey Machabe: Gospel Singer Raised by Poor Mum Discloses Nairobi Women Made Him Forget Home
Gospel singer Geoffrey Machabe has narrated how his life changed for the better after his aunt threw him out of her house in Kasarani when he was at Zetech University.
The youthful musician revealed that he found a security job weeks after the ordeal in Upper Hill, Nairobi.
After landing the job with the Turkish-owned security agency, Machabe's resilience saw him getting promoted to the secretary position.
At that point he was getting paid KSh 40,000; this was more than he had dreamed of.
After a few months, the Amenibadilisha hitmaker was again promoted to a higher rank and this came with a salary increase of KSh 20,000.
Machabe forgot his past
In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Machabe disclosed he was raised in poverty by his widowed mother.
However, when his life changed, ladies came into his life and made him forget his poor mother.
Machabe revealed that he spent his fortune with beautiful Nairobi chicks and neglected his mum and siblings.
“I was earning a good amount of money. Ladies came into my life. Some lured me because they wanted to enjoy part of my money. I didn't really help my mother until I lost the lucrative job,” Machabe said.
The young artiste said he suddenly lost his well-paying job after he was betrayed by a colleague who set him up.
“The colleague of mine was eying my job. He influenced me to steal our boss' money and one day he duped me and reported me,” Machabe revealed.
Machabe reformed
Following the many ups and downs in his life, Machabe reformed and joined the ministry.
Aside from gospel music, Machabe is also a taxi driver in Nairobi. He is looking to inspire people with his life story.
