Comedian Njugush's wife Celestine Ndinda has opened up about some things people must stop asking and doing to pregnant women.
Celestine Ndinda: Let new mums rest
In a sitdown on Njugush's YouTube channel, the gorgeous mum of two shared that people have a tendency to make pregnant women uncomfortable and sometimes unknowingly, and she listed things people should stop saying or doing.
For starters, she cautioned people who like to ask when the baby will be arriving or comment about one's pregnancy being a long experience.
She also advised people to stop caressing people's baby bumps, especially if they're not close to the expectant mother.
When it came to visiting a new mum in the hospital or at home, Celestine said people should only do so when they know they will help.
“Please don't come kama mnakuja mstory. Mnakuja kama wageni and maybe I didn't sleep during the night mnataka nishinde nikiwapikia chai. I expect kama wewe ni beste yangu, you come and help. Huyu mtu ako all over emotions zake, amechoka na nyinyi mmekam re-union,” she said.
She said people should let mums rest and bond with their newborns to give them time to get used to their new babies.
She also encouraged people to stop giving unsolicited information or opinion, especially if they don't know the parents have been trying to get professional help.
