Flora Mtegoa, the mother of the late Tanzanian actor Stephen Kanumba, shared the circumstances of his birth.
On Wednesday, November 30, she revealed that she became pregnant with a married man after her first marriage failed.
She said she was stressed after a failed marriage when she met Kanumba's father and he stepped on her.
“I was worried a lot when I met Kanumba's father. He had a family and I knew that,” she told Global Publishers.
Mtegoa claimed to have told her about his family before she accepted him and even knew his wife.
Explaining her decision to get pregnant with a married man, Mtegoa said:
“I saw that I was getting old and I didn't want marriage anymore. If I had gone with single man, they'd like to get a job with me.”
She noted that she plans to get a child and care for her alone.
“I knew I was going to have one child and close that chapter. When Kanumba's dad rejected him, I already had a good job and raised him until he became successful.”
She also shared her view on marriage, saying:
“Those who are out of wedlock want to get into while Married people want to get out.”
